MVP Development

A first version in weeks, not quarters. Scoped to what proves the idea, built so version two is not a rewrite.

Deciding what to cut is the easy part. The damage shows up later, in the auth model that cannot hold a second user type, the schema that assumed one currency, and the deploy nobody can repeat. We cut features hard, and never the decisions that are expensive to reverse.

What we build

Scope you can defend

One user, one job, one thing the product has to do well — and everything we cut written down, not quietly dropped.

The core user flow

The path from signup to the thing they came for, finished properly, while everything around it stays deliberately thin.

Data model and permissions

Data model, identity, and permissions — the three things a rewrite is usually made of.

Deploy pipeline from week one

A deploy pipeline and a staging URL before the first feature, so releasing stops being an event.

Instrumentation from the start

Events on the paths that matter, so the first release answers a question instead of starting an argument.

Cut list and known shortcuts

The cut list, the known shortcuts, and where each one is written down in the code.

What you get

  • A product in front of real users, not a demo
  • Source code and deploy pipeline in your own repositories
  • A written cut list with the reasoning for each decision
  • Event tracking live on the core flow before launch, not bolted on after

We build this for ourselves too

We ship our own products the same way. GetFade and Nilo Learn are both live, both still ours to maintain, and both doing more now than their first release did.

Common questions

What do we cut from version one?

Features, integrations, settings, and anything a manual step can cover for the first few months. Not the data model, not identity, and not the deploy path.

Will we have to rebuild it later?

Not the foundations, if they were built properly the first time. Feature code gets replaced as you learn, and that is normal — a rewrite means the schema or the permission model was wrong.

What if our idea does not work?

Then you find out in weeks rather than after a year of building. If discovery suggests the idea does not need software at all, we will say so.
